It couldn’t have been better. Beautiful Spring weather drew a vast number of visitors to this year’s prolight+sound in the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre, and especially outside in the Concert Sound Arena exhibitors were able to demonstrate their products under clear blue skies, with everybody having a great time.
27.03.2012 Smaart v.7 Seminar
The word is out. Smaart is an excellent tool for adapting complex loudspeaker systems to an acoustic environment, whether it’s line array, point source, optimisation of infill, outfill or the phase alignment of the sub-woofers.
Listeners’ demands on acoustic performance have grown a great deal over the last few years. Today’s audio systems offer a variety of parameters and tools for placing a system in a room to the optimum acoustic advantage, and systems technicians should master these parameters and tools and have them at their fingertips. A good loudspeaker is the basis of a good sound, and so opens the way to a successful event, but knowing how to use systems properly is something that’s often underestimated, even though the resulting sound and the acoustic ‘win’ in a ‘before-and-after contest can be really very impressive.
Michael Häck has already been with us in 2011 to pass on his skills to eager users in two booked-out seminars. Michael Häck’s seminars are praised for the clear and understandable way he presents theoretical fundamentals and for the immensely practice-based usefulness of the applications he uses as examples. Following the seminar, participants should be able to go away and put what they have heard into practice straight away.

27.02.2012 TW AUDIO Demo Day in Amman
TW AUDiO has held its very first demo day in Amman, Jordan, organised by our distributor Less db. After an introductory presentation of the TW AUDiO product family, the basics of EASE Focus and the Powersoft ARMONIA software were explained to begin with, followed by listening tests that, as is so often the case, brought smiles of pleasure to participants’ faces.
The PA-SYS-ONE system with T24 and the B30 system were demonstrated, as well as the VERA-SYS-ONE line array system with and without the VERA L24 low-mid extender and the BSX infra-bass. Our C15 coaxial monitor attracted a great deal of interest as well, both as a floor monitor and set up on a speaker pole in conjunction with the B30 as frontfill.

The prolight+sound 2012 is taking place from 21 to 24 March, and as the world’s leading trade fair for our industry, it promises to be something really special. So it’s really not surprising that every manufacturer is tense and excited in the weeks leading up to it, especially if, like us, you’re announcing a world première. Our new VERA36 Vertical Array System, fitted with 2 x 10", 2 x 8" and 2 x 1,4", will be going onstage for the very first time. 17.12.2011 Asia Tour, Part 3, Tokyo
The third and final stage took us to Tokyo, Japan. First there was the Inter BEE exhibition from 16th to 18th November, where we were especially looking forward to presenting the new C15 monitor. After being demonstrated by our distributor, Graphica, and given a thorough testing by the trade experts, it passed its premiere in Japan with flying colours!
Then, after a restful weekend near Mount Fuji, we were introduced to Tokyo’s club and sushi scene. One of Tokyo’s smallest but hippest underground clubs is EN-SOF, which, equipped with 2 x M12, 2 x M8, 2 x M6 and 2 x B15 subwoofers, has a quite special charm all of its own.
